Simply a compilation of classics. Each song on this album has its own character and upbeat vibe to keep you tapping the table and singing along for hours. With plenty of tunes from the Supremes, Temptations and The Jacksons, there is an endless supply of quality.

With a massive 46 tracks, this album has re-discovered all the hits of that great era of music from Detroit. Anybody who likes a song to dance to or an anthem to admire will love this great collection. Some of these tracks are classics and others are just downright hard to find so its well worth a look.

Berry Gordy intended to use his artists to break down the then racial barriers, intending to encapsulate a golden and distinct sound that would not only please a black audience but would too appeal to whites. Berry Gordys visions for the company paid off. Key artists like Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder attracted a huge following from both blacks and whites.

This is a more technical comment on this re-release - obviously this is a full five star album, genius at its very height, etc.

However having listened closely to the "Deluxe" (2-CD) version of Who's Next against the earlier 1995 "Remixed and Digitally Remastered" (1-CD) version - they ain't the same (if you use iTunes, use Apple Lossless - you'll never go back to MP3, BTW - or FLAC with other players). The track lengths give this away, but on a good system, and particularly with good headphones, you will be able to tell the difference easily. Essentially the Deluxe sounds like a remaster only - i.e. taken from the original stereo master tapes, and a harsh one at that - whereas the 1995 version is clearly a remix from the original multitrack ...
