Basically, its a best of Motorhead, but live, so you get the usual crowd/band banter, and the added bonus of most songs being played faster. I think the fact that Metal Hammer included it their ".. what you havent got..." section says it all really! |

. No Sleep 'Til HammersmithSearch: Roads by: Motörhead Release Date I loved this album when I first bought it on vinyl, and it still sounds great now on cd. It belongs in the collection of anybody into hard, loud, up-tempo rock music. Save yourself money by buying the single cd version. I paid extra for the 2 cd "special edition", and the extra disc just contains inferior recordings of the same songs. Probably the ones that were rejected for the original release. I do actually think "Everything louder than everyone else" is their best live cd, whereas this is the one people know because it was released at the height of Motorhead's fame. Buy either and you won't be disappointed. |
. Ace of SpadesSearch: Roads by: Motörhead Release Date August 24, 1999 Well, what can I say? It's f****** Motorhead! Here's a brief rundown. Of course, there's the obligatory classics, namely "Ace of Spades", "Bomber", "Killed by Death" etc. "Capricorn" is a bit of a wierd one - very un-Motorhead-ish. "Louie Louie" is a cool bluesy cover. "Speedfreak" is just a great song. And "Doctor Rock" has one of the best lyrics ever - "We sure ain't talking Dr. Spock, hear me talking Dr. Rock!" Overall, a pretty solid "best of". There's a few fillers, but not too many to spoil it. Lemmy: Heavy metal God! Rock the f*** on! Motorhead: THE BEST BIKER BAND IN THE WORLD! |
