 Rating:  - Sublime collectionI don't normally go for "Best Ofs" or "Collections" but I felt this was an exception. The whole package is superbly produced and contains all you need for a look back at MA's history. They are a truely creative and influential band and just so different from anything else that has been. The first disc has some old favourites, my personal ones being Unfinished Sympathy, Butterfly Caught, Teardrop and Protection. The 2nd disc was more hit and miss for me, but I have to make a special mention for I Against I, a collaboration with Mos Def, whom I like very much as an artist in his own right. I first heard the track on an UNKLE CD (Edit Music for a Film) and was instantly gripped by it's pulsating beat. The ... As a Best Of, it's never going to flow as well as the albums; indeed, MA albums often flow better than many so-called concept albums, so the sequencing here would be jarring regardless. Secondly, it doesn't suit those who don't like Massive Attack, or their music, although whether you can blame the album for this is debatable. I can respect the opinions of such people; but they are wrong. Strengths: mainly, this doesn't fall into the traps of so many other compilations by other bands, a particular one being the tendency to lift half of an album critically hailed as a "classic" and then to bolt on a couple of songs from others, e.g. like Blur's Best Of which lifts six songs (out of 18) from Parklife and then ... Read More: Rating: - Worth it for Live With Me !Having seen Massive Attack (finally) at Montreux Jazz Festival this year, and Terry Callier's Live With Me was haunting, I bought this only because I could not get that song out of my head. Besides, I had never seen any of their videos, and had no idea how much of an art form they were. Unlike an earlier reviewer I'd watch the videos often as they are such an art form. It's a very good package indeed. Even if you are a Massive fan & have all their recorded stuff...Get This! If you are a beginner, buy it and learn. I'd give this six out of five stars. Rating: - get it for "I Against I"Mezzanine was for me the best album of the 90s, and is a top desert island disk. This "best of" will not usurp it. Any fan will already have everything from this collection with the exception of the new track "Live With Me," which is frankly disappointing. That means the only version to get is this "deluxe limited edition". Having all the videos is cool (though they're cryptic and many are boring. My fave is probably Karmacoma. How often are you gonna watch them anyway?). So that makes the extras CD layer the only real boon. Well, how is it? Merely pretty good. This CD + Dual Disc contain a complete summary of their work, the new songs "Live With Me" and "False Flags", some Rarities and all of their videos from "Blue Lines up to their new single. This will be a great introduction to all curious listeners and a great addition to your collection if you have followed the band since "Blue Lines". All the good stuff is in here and I suggest that you buy this rather than the expensive singles box set.
