I have a lot of Classic FM compilations but I think this is better than any of those, though it probably won't sell as well because it's not got the Classic FM backing. Several friends who have called by have been hooked by this in the background and bought it themselves. Some lovely music, 58 assorted tracks essentially a mixture of pure classical and modern film scores: Lord of the Rings, Barber, Chopin, Gershwin, Tan Dun, Lloyd Webber, Satie, Debussy and Vivaldi all rub shoulders in companionable celebration of the beauty of music which can touch the emotions. Sure some pieces are almost too well known to Classic FM listeners, as with any compilation, but this mix seems to work. I could listen to these 4 CDs for days on end - in fact I have!

This is really a very pleasant disc, and extremely good value. I bought it thinking it was a DVD-A, and also because I thought I'd like the music. Does it matter that it's not a DVD-A? Well yes and no. This disc deserves actually a 5 star rating, but I've given it 4 because it's a DVD-V parading as a DVD-A. Nowhere on the disc or jewel case does it mention DVD Audio, but it leads you to think that it is. Amazon are also advertising it as such. In the end though, do I like the music and quality of the recordings? Yes!

It is rich and beautiful and this recording flows through your sound system like gentle waters caressing the shore.

No matter what kind of music you enjoy you will find beauty here. Only the classical 'purists' could find fault with this. This is a recording to be listened to with the heart and ears and not the ego. If there is one particular high note somewhere in the stratosphere that Charlotte doesn't hit on this or her new CD "Prelude" it may just be that we don't notice because we are so enjoying this lovely girl and her exquisite voice.
