After The Colourfield split up Chrysalis slit had enough faith in Terry Hall to come up with the goods they allowed him to credit this album Terry, Blair and Anoushta when issuing it as a solo venture by cash cow Terry Hall may have appealed more to their accountants.

With the two part harmony backing vocals the album is more attuned to Fun Boy Three than any other of the Hall canon and the feminine touch makes this a very light and poppy collection. This is most apparent on with jazz standard `Three Cool Catz' which is very reminiscent of FB3 45 `T-aint What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It) which was lifted by the backing singing of the then unknown Bananarama.

Best Mr. Men Album...Ever!

We bought this to play in the car for the children (aged 3 and 18 months) as we drove through France - and they loved it! And more to the point, it was bearable for us adults!
The usual dreary nursery rhyme tapes sung in high pitch 'church' voices were replaced by a jolly selection of tunes in a wide variety of styles ranging from reggae, pop and 'madness-like'.

There's a tune or poem for each of the Mr Men - our boys favourite was Mr Skinny (skinny and thin like a rolling pin - said it was corny)

If the kids have to listen to something in the car, this is as about as good as it gets.

This is an unusual album... it's jazz, but not as you know it. I can even hear hints of Tori Amos on 'Well' and Radiohead on 'Dinosaur Die'. The musicianship of these three is just stunning and what really strikes me so much about the album is the production, it's so beautifully engineered, so flawless, it's a treat every time it's played. All the tracks are good, some more beautiful than others, with great, soaring musical landscapes that Cowley manages to conjure up on the piano. Really great drumming and double bass too. Highly recommended.
