There are numerous great value compilation sets of classical music claiming to have the power of relaxation - Classic FM alone have a few variants such as `Relax', `Relax More' and `Time to Relax' - and all appear to offer the ultimate relaxing experience so it's a difficult task to decide which to buy.

There is no `best' compilation though for it's a matter of personal choice, but there are several advantages of choosing the Classic FM range of relaxation therapy. There is not too much repetition between each set (if there was, we wouldn't buy their next relax release would we?), the recordings are invariably good (and recent) ones, and most importantly they usually offer a selection of some of today's big names in the Classical ... This has gone to the top of the pile of my favourite CDs - and I would recommend it 100% to all music lovers. Whether you already know a lot about classical music and want the highlights of your collection on just three discs - or whether you are just turning on to classical music for the first time, I guarantee you'll love The Sound of Classic FM.

Listening to a Vanessa-Mae recording is always an awe-inspiring experience, the way she manages to play extremly high-notes, and completes long-complex phrases of double, trip or quadrupel-stopping (playing two, three or four notes at once!) with apparent ease is incredible.

What makes this recording even more spectacular is the age of the recording, the CD case declares: "First General Release of her Brilliant Early Recordings." When I first listened to the CD I had not read this, and yet I still accepted her vioin-playing as exceptional (myself being a vioin player, and understanding when violin playing is completed succesfully.
