Acknowledging all the other reviews that reinforce the point of this being a classic revisit of some of the last 10 years' biggest tunes, I really want to outline that Ministry of Sound ownership also represents possibly the biggest thorn in Euphoria's side.
If we take a look at the first Euphoria albums, we can see some real honesty and new ground there. Seldom-heard-of-on-mix-compilations talent like PF Project, Matt Darey, Agnelli&Nelson and Jay Burnett, these guys were given a task to put together an album that said what they wanted to say. The Euphoria album cover would proudly proclaim who had mixed it (and even how - some albums were "digitally mixed" i.e. on a computer rather than by all-hands-on-decks) and each album had ... Renaissance volume 4 was one of the first CD's I ever purchased & so it evokes great memories for me. It is pure genius from start to finish with Dave Seaman looking to establish himself as one of the all time great super club DJ'S. This album was widely acclaimed as one of his finest sets & where as I wouldn't say it was his best, it was pretty damn good!! Ian Ossia too puts on a fine performance, although rumour has it that the original pressing was only set to feature Dave Seaman with a 3 disc release, however at the last minute the powers that be decided to include one CD from Ossia to tease the renaissance faithful, how well it worked!

First of all I'm astonished I'm only the 2nd reviewer of this album-I mean this is a GU Paul Oakenfold release album after all.
CD1 starts with a surprising drum & bass mix which certainly wasn't expecting but it works very well and is just so slick and fluent which will please you a lot-after about the 10th track the transition to trance is seamless and so effortless which will leave you wondering how on earth have you been listening to a drum and bass mix but you'll do this with a smile--from here on in is the start of one of the nest trance productions Ive ever heard and that's including GU007 by Oakenfold himself and even GU013 by Sasha--it really is a top drawer effort with not one bad track or dip and will throw you straight back to pre ...
