It has been now 17 years since Freddie's death and we still haven't had a Queen Box Set of Rarities etc. like the Freddie Mercury one. Now they are releasing singles box sets, why? Most fans have all these songs either on the studio albums or various Greatest Hits packages (Ok except See What A Fool I've Been on certain countries albums). Queen fan completists will buy this album, but I certainly will not. Yes great songs this set but its really an expensive Greatest Hits 1 type package with the singles b sides and you can pick up the albums on the net quite cheaply if you look around. C'mon Queen Productions give us a decent release, not rehashing of old stuff

This is a great introduction to the wonders of '70's rock . Most of the top bands from the era make an appearance and for a change not with all the usual songs , so Deep Purple have Fireball instead of Smoke on the flippin' water , Focus have House of the king (theme from "Saxondale" for you youngsters) rather then the obligatory Hocus Pocus, Hawkwind have Hury on Sundown and not Silver Machine, etc . Any album that includes Curved air, Argent,Nazareth and Be Bop Deluxe (all of whom are usually overlooked on these compilations) has got to be worth your money. minus two stars for the uninspired selection of Paranoid for the hundred and ninetieth time but plus one for the inclusion of Apache dropout. I had heard this album before and thought is was great so i ordered it, but unknowing to me it is a replica of the original record but in miniture with a playable CD.

A must have for all Queen fans, and if you like the idea of this, why not buy 'The Game' (limited edition) which is again a replica of the original record album.

This album is so full of energy, fun, silliness and just great music. You HAVE to own a copy. Who knows what half these songs are about, who cares?

When I was 14 my mate used to drag me up to the smoke to watch her shop in Biba. On one occasion a very dodgy group of men was hanging round the till. My mate said they were harmless, they were just friends with one of the shop assistants. It was spring 1970. Yes, you've guessed it! So it's not surprising that I didn't immediately recognise Freddie 4 years later when he exploded on to the stage in a white catsuit at a Uni gig. In august 1986 Queen walked off stage at Knebworth after playing theyre last ever concert. Freddie Mercury stunned the band by saying he was retiring from live performance. Later obviously it became apparent that his HIV was the cause of this.
1 month earlier they played 2 sell out gigs at Wembley stadium. This is the second night & it's a fantastic gig. Queen are on top of the world playing the hits that made them famous.
Hit after hit is rolled out all instantly recognisable.
By this time 2 hours wasnt long enough to fit all theyre songs in but they made a good effort with this. Essential listening,get it!!!!
