I bought this album to catch up on some of songs I used to listen to when I was younger. When I first listened to it I was very disappointed. First of all there is no indication from the track list that alot of the tracks are either live or else compiled from different sources. The first four tracks are described on the cover as live but others are also live which aren't even described as such in the sleve notes. Weaver's Answer sounds like a demo recorded in a basement. With continued listening it gets better but not by much. I'm now going to sell this and get another album with tracks of original studio recordings. Anyone wanna buy a album by a band called Family. They're really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know off the top of my head where I heard of Brandi Carlile but I can tell you i dont regret it for a minute. After a few weeks of frustatingly listening to her off YouTube I bought this album and her self-titled album.

This album combines folk, rock, country and soul in one amazing package. Highlights for me are the opening track "Late Morning Lullaby", "Turpentine" which Carlile wrote as a teenager, "Have You Ever" and "The Story", the last two written by Brandi's band mate Phil Hanseroth who plays and sings harmonies on most tracks and forms Brandi's touring band along with his brother Tim (who co-wrote a few on the album too). "Josephine" is a rootsy, old style folk tune with perfect 3-part harmony and simple guitar picking. ... Read More:
