. Flying CarpetsSearch: Shanti Mantra by: Claude Challe Release Date June 20, 2000 This Compilation still remains my favourite by Claude Challe. Unlike the Buddha Bar Series (although somewhere closer to Ravin's Vol.3) this album focusses mostly on Eastern sounds and the tracks selected here are excellent. The first CD starts with a more classical feel - Mozart L'egyptien - Symphonie an ingenious blend (as the name suggests) of classical Mozart and traditional Egyptian sounds. Later tracks from Ruby Hen and L'orchestre National de Barbes are full of happy energetic voices. The higlights are kept for the second CD however with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Lori Carson's 'Don't go back to sleep' the standout track on the album. A chanting voice, deep with emotion yet floating over you gently, lifting your spirit. Read More: |
