If you are a fan of the Dogs D'amour or Tyla's solo work then this album is a break from what you are used to.
I have been a fan from the outset and haven't a clue what Tyla was thinking when he recorded this. Most tracks are plagued by an annoying "Techno" beat", vocals are weak, sound quality questionable, and the CD contains the worst version of "Princess Valium" that you are likely to hear.
Of course this is my opinion. I'm all for innovation and experimentation in music - but this album is not to my taste at all.
You may like it. If you do please review it here to counter my negativity.

If you feel that Verdi has beautyfull music, but it has a too much thick blood, and you think that beauty must be tensed by reason; You are looking at the right composer. This opera or musical drama (in the wagnerian sense, cause it is a romantic comedy) makes a very whole unit, the "areas" and the recited-sung recitatives are in funtion of the "dramatic" momentum or inerce, it's incredible how pleasently quick this work is heard, and yes it's very entretaining (I know that's not necesary a virtue for an opera, but here it is). The music, well, gorgeous as might be expected from V.W., transitions are well sewn, and the traditonal folk songs add a dash or elizabethian romanticism. The cast is strong, Hendrix is very ... Appearances notwithstanding, this compilation is British through and through. The pseudonym of Primo Scala cloaked the identity of Harry Bidgood (who recorded also as Don Porto and Rossini), and Roberto and Geraldo were George Scott Wood and Gerald Bright respectively. The Primo Scala band came into being in the early thirties, and recorded prolifically. It was one of the most frequent contributors to the radio programme "Music While You Work", the line-up for broadcasts being four accordions, two pianos, bass, drums and either guitar or banjo. So it is fitting that Primo Scala should take the lion's share, with nineteen tracks. He kicks off this compilation in the capital city of France, a country that is evoked by the instrument, with a hit song ... Read More:

Oh! My Goodness...what on earth do we have here? What have Submarine Records done to Jay Wilbur's fine band? This new release is truly horrendous!
These recordings were made between 1930 and 1936 by a fine studio house band and there are some excellent performances here, but they have been totally spoiled by the most inept remastering you could imagine. Track one starts abruptly as the first note or two has been shaved off in the "remastering" process. There is no excuse for that. I suspect many of the original 78s used were in less than pristine condition, but that doesn't account for the sound distortion evident on most tracks and the variations of volume which mar any potential listening pleasure.
