Brightblack Morning Light [VINYL]Search: Shine by: Brightblack Morning Light Release Date September 25, 2006 OK, descriptions of this band, that I have seen, have concentrated on the languid, laid back nature of the music. Some have tagged them as 'stoner-rock', and its hard to dispute that, especially as my copy came with free 'prismatic glasses' that add an interesting rainbow effect to any light source viewed through them and, if that weren't enough of a hint, are decorated with cannabis leaf symbols. This is somewhat misleading as there is more than enough to occupy the listener who may wish to enjoy it 'straight'. This is a brilliant listen whatever the state of mind you might choose audition it in. It reminds me, a little, of Galaxy 500 and even John Mayall's 'Laurel Canyon' or Can's "Future Days" album, but the amazing thing is ... Read More: |
