This is the best Bee Gees compilation released as it has all but 6 of the band's U.K+U.S single's from 1966-1990.For some strange and annoying reason, the compiler's have excluded the single's "Spicks And Specks",from 1966(here in live form only),"Spirit's Having Flown"from 1979,the classic's "Living Eyes" and "Paradise"from 1981,"Crazy For Your love",from 1987,and"Bodyguard",from 1989,which would have made this awesome collection complete and a 5 star rating.Instead of these single's,a live section is unecessarily included on disc 4,which although is excellent, would have been better as a live cd in it's own right. There are several of the band's solo single's included but strangely and annoyingly again, another exclusion is here "August October",Robin's ... I can honestly say that this is one of the best CDs I own. The BeeGees are fantastic when they're live, and every song is sensational.
I can't find anything bad to say about this CD. It's one of those CDs that you listen to time and time again.

There are many tribute albums to the Bee Gees and there are sure to be more. However, this collection concentrates on the late sixties by British artists only. Unlike "Melody Fair" (Eggbert Records; a great compilation), this grouping contains all original artists from existing singles or album cuts (most out of print). Fourteen of the songs were released as singles. Although most of the artists have come and gone there are some note-worthy signers. PP Arnold has covered many Gibb songs and was a featured back-up on "Cucumber Castle" (PP Arnold was an Ike & Tina Turner back-up singer). Although all the songs have been recorded by the Bee Gees, many of these are only available on `bootlegs'. Thankfully, the liner notes are extensive and finally solve the ... Read More:

Best known for his pioneering work with the Yardbirds, Jeff Beck was one of the iconic faces of the swinging sixties, as exemplified in the film Blow Up, where the band perform a thinly disguised version of Train Kept-A Rollin'. He was exploring with feedback on homemade amps as early as 1960, and was a student of blues, rock and roll and country artists like Buddy Guy, Earl Hooker, Johnny Burnette and James Burton; and he played live with a variety of bands in the early sixties. Yet his recordings have not been poured over and anthologized as fellow guitar gods Clapton and Page have been, a circumstance which Shapes Of Things - 60s Groups And Sessions attempts to put right. This seems to be one of the first to contextualize his earlier and later sixties work ... Read More:
