Nothing too special (except track 08), but what makes this a great addition to any enthusiastic Goa trance fan's cd collection, is the second cd. Mixed by Man with no name, quite possibly the most outstanding artist in trance. The set begins so promisingly with Magnat's "The Saga" and never fails to please right through to the end. This is an outstanding cd! |

. The Bongolian: 100% Heavy Bongo VibesSearch: Showdown by: Bongolian Release Date July 12, 2004 As the cover says "100% heavy bongo vibes" mixed with a heavy case of the Hammond organ. Reminds me of legendary bands like Bar-kays, The Meters and Fatback Band. With their very analog lo-fi sound, it sounds like it was recorded in the mid 70's. Has some of the same feel as Beastie Boys 1996 album "The IN sound from way OUT" although I think "The Bongolian" is even more based on the funk that came out of New Orleans and Detroit in the 70's - which I rather like! |
