An excellent soundtrack for an excellent series. Being four years older than Simon in 1997, this soundtrack has had me bopping around for days. Not only are there old classics, and also classics dressed up (cue Minogue & Minogue, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor), but some fantastic new music from Dan Gillespie. This includes the fabulous theme tune, and some spectacular orchestrations throughout. My only gripe is that the Annie medley from the Joseph episode isn't included. That said, it is a superb soundtrack!!

On the sleeve notes it says: "Could This Be The Worst Album In The World? Or Is It The Best?".

You could say it's both.

You see, there are good songs ('Son Of My Father' and 'Seven Tears') along with the truly awful songs ('Johnny Reggae', 'Hello') and the songs which get you singled out because you like them and no-one else does ('Agadoo', 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep'). Sometimes it's suprising how some of the songs made No.1, let alone the entire charts!

But all in all, this can be very entertaining and worth a laugh.

"Smash Hits - The 80s" is a superb collection of 80s hits but so much more than that, all the extras that you recieve with it are fantastic and you can spend ages enjoying this wonderful collector's item that is sure to delight all thoses who love the best decade of music.
If you are a fan of 1980s and the music from that wonderful area then this collections a must have, if you were around during those 10 years and a reader of "Smash Hits" magazine, you will no doubt enjoy it even more and all the happy memories will all come flooding back to you, I can guarantee it.
Fully recommened, a super release!

You're either looking at this because you're after a refresher course in music from the last thirty years, or, like me you were hoping to see some originality in a compilation CD.

I caught this show a few times and whilst some of the covers were complete drible, some were fantastic arrangements. (For example, there was a motown style reworking of a Darkness song IIRC.) It's a shame Virgin TV couldn't work hard to secure rights to include some of the better covers on this album as THEN I would have actually bought it!

The Ultimate Cheeky Party Album is a MUST for all parties! It ranges from various years of disco. For example the Y.M.C.A takes you back to 1978, where as nigel and Marvin with "Follow da leader" takes the party right up to date. Cd1 have the classic party tunes that everyone knows such as "TimeWarp" and who can forget dancing to Whigfields "Saturday night" and disco's and parties. This album will have people at parties dancing all night long! A must for all parties!

This is probably one of the best CD's released in a very long time, as all the family can listen to it. It's not often my parents by buy CD's these days, but my mum always has this on now!
