Alma Cogan was Britain's brightest female star half-a-century ago, and her sparkling, effervescent voice continues to generate joy through her recordings so many years after her premature death. Her commercial recordings have been released and reissued in many forms over the past six decades, but this compilation is quite unique.
There are 58 recordings taken from the enormously popular BBC radio show "Take It From Here" and a number of rare, previously unissued, demo records which add great value to this double CD set. There are no less than 72 tracks; the majority under two minutes each as allotted to her on the broadcasts. "That's What A Rainy Day Is For" and "I Love The Way You Say Goodnight" come from a 1954 broadcast on which ... Read More:

I don't quite know how to decribe this album. Since I bought it a month ago, I listen to it pretty much every day, either in my lunch break or work or s I go to sleep at night.
This was the first Joseph Arthur album I bought after hearing a few of his songs and loving what I heard. This album does not disappoint in any respect.
A couple of favourites are "Can't Exist", "Devils Broom" and "A Smile That Exlodes" but having said that I do not dislike any of them
