These tracks from the late 1940's (Dinah's best and most successful period) were obviously compiled by a Dinah Shore fan. You won't find Buttons and bows here, nor any of her other big hits - if you want these, you can get them all on 16 Greatest hits and 16 Greatest hits Encore!, whose 32 tracks (no duplication) between them include all Dinah's big Columbia hits.

There are several minor hits missing from those two collections. Three of them can be found here - The egg and I, When am I gonna kiss you good morning? and At the candlelight cafe, all of them making their debut on CD here.

I first remember hearing the wondrous "together we are beautiful" on a school trip to Twycross Zoo when I was no where near my teens. From that moment, I fell in love with the song and with Fern Kinney. All these years have passed and I have probably fallen in love with a thousand songs and quite a few hundred pretty girls too. But when Fern Kinney "walked into my life" she stayed there for ever with this song.

I must admit that the only album that gets played regularly is the first one, as some of their later stuff is a bit too saccharine. This CD has the same cheap topic (sappy love songs). Especially the ex:leadsinger of Chicago has always played & sung the same rhythm, beat & sound. The voice of the singer sounds very boring, monoton and tedious.

If you're a Heavy Rock fan of bands like Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, The Who, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep or AC/DC, you will perhaps dismiss this sappy love song band (Cetera & co). I'd personally never known the other Heavy Rock Fans who respect Chicago....I never see them in my life!

If you are listening to Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page or Ritchie Blackmore, you are familiar with their usual powerful Rockriffs. You certainly ... Read More:

Record companies must really adore people like me. Here's ANOTHER box-set that i persuaded myself into needing, without it being that essential a purchase. This is a really lavish one, which features five cds and a dvd. Quite a nice package, all in all, with a thick booklet included.

I feel it does a reasonable job in telling the group's story, but it suffers from featuring a bit too much of the inferior output from the late seventies. The parallel downside is that edit versions are used for many of the selections, so as to leave room for a larger number of tracks.

The first disc gets things going nicely, being devoted to material from the debut album ("CTA") and the follow-up ("Chicago"). The second disc, which covers the albums from "Chicago ... Read More:
