Any album which begins "You have entered the cranial vistas of psychogenesis" surely cannot take itself too seriously. The concept behind this double-CD is that eight characters from history have been gathered together in some mysterious future setting. The narration which introduces many of the tracks is pompous in tone and bewildering in content.

But this is no problem. There are some stirring and catchy melodies along the way. Admittedly I had to listen to the whole album three or four times before I started to appreciate the songs, but catchy little phrases gradually took root in my mind and replayed over in my head long after the CD had ended.
