bad company are amazing and this is the darkest fastest weirdest dnb ive heard yet from them. all the tunes are great, but i especially like spider, ladies of spain (book of the bad ep) freeze, and son of nitrous ( a reworking of the nitrous mother tune from inside the machine) if u like drum and bass BUY THIS NOW.

I bought this CD based on the recommendations above but to honest I think it is dreary and downbeat. I know it is supposed to be chilled out but it just did nothing for me. Maybe I need to listen to it again but after a few listens I wouldn't recommend it.

It has to be said, this album won't be to everyone's taste. Nick Currie, aka Momus, is essentially a brilliant poet with a gift for a good tune, but he's never been afraid to court controversy. So on Love on Ice, for example, he ponders the dynamic between ice skaters Torville and Dean, skirting close to libel territory, or on The Homosexual he's vowing vengeance on those who wrongly assume him to be gay by bedding their women.
This is a collection of songs taken from the albums he recorded for Creation in the late Eighties and early nineties. He's a very un-British songwriter in many respects, and his stated influences are people like Jacques Brel, Scott Walker and Serge Gainsbourg, whose determination to shock Currie occasionally attempts ...
