. The Best Of Blur (2CD)Search: Stereotypes by: Blur Release Date October 30, 2000 Theres much to say about this terrific music. It really is unlike anything else, so original, so rocking, soothing and hilarious. It opens with the brilliant 1997 single Beetlebum which in my view is a "perfect" Blur song, and afterwards treated to the splendour that is Song 2. Marvellous. The CD is packed with classics such as Parklife and Girls and Boys and the superb and most recent Coffee and TV, which is just one of those songs that gets better everytime you hear it. A few songs such as the debut single She's So High will be most liked only to hardcore Blur fans, but once you hear the first tracks you will be! Then, my personal favourite- which is Tender is just so likeable, so superb. Good news to hear the guys are coming back to the studio ... Read More: |

Live at the BudokanSearch: Stereotypes by: Blur Release Date May 30, 1996 Although this is a great live album in itself it has now also become an extremely rare chance to hear the band playing tracks that they have now virtually disowned as a result of their new direction. This album contains incredible live versions of songs such as 'Country House' and most other songs from the 1995 album 'The Great Escape' which if recent band member comments are anything to go by looks unlikely to be ever played live again. Alongside this are also the best tracks from their first three albums which come together to form one of the most powerfull live sets i have ever heard Blur play. In summary if you love and miss the old Blur, then this album should prove to be a priceless reminder of an era that looks unlikely to be seen again... |
