As Years Go By: a Tribute to the Rolling StonesSearch: Stereotypes by: Rolling Stones Release Date April 08, 2002 Like the same label-Dressed To Kill-who previously did a Beatles one this follows the same pattern of very close covers and bands with ridiculous names like Rooted To The Floor and Paper Parrott Or names no web search would find like Ears Nose & Throat,Tint and Crap Bloke! As with their Beatles covers there's the same indication that some of these bands could be the same musicians. Outstanding though is Bangrah Desh's instrumental version of Angie-hardly anywhere near my favorite Stones song but this being without the silly mannered Jagger vocal is quite beautiful-like a piece of Palm Court music. Probably difficult to find being on an Indie label but I can recommend this to those who like Stones covers. |

In Vol 6 he ups the dosage of exquisite jazzy breaks and refined trip hop tracks from an all star line-up including Global Communications, 4 Hero's Dego with Josh Wink and many more. Right from the start of the first of this two disc set you are into a candles & wine mood with the Frenchmen in Chateau Flight (Paris' Gilb-R and I:Cube, who've remixed Pierre Henry and Air). Their classy track "Camping Jazz" has nothing campy about it, as elegant piano lines, smooth strings, kalimba and harp, work around the jazzy snare breaks.
