Whist not having the usual suspects such as Slade,Shaky et all this is still a worthwhile buy. It is more a seasonal selection rather thanS specifically christmas stuff. Stop the cavalry is there(disc 1) tho id prefer it if it wasnt as after having a downstairs neighbour who used to blast it out at all hours im pig sick of it!! Theres some lovely 50s and 60s stuff (Alma Cogan and the divine Kay Starr, a whole heap of Nat King Cole and Dean Martin and almost a disc of real christmas songs. Even The Muppets turn up although the inclusion of The Seekers Morningtown Ride is baffling until played alongside the wintery feel of the other tracks. I think it is good it makes you feel really christmassy and all the great artists. My favourite being Mariah Carey. Christmas is about singing and rejoicing it is singing to the heavens and making everyone happy.

I kind of trusted on the reviews.Ok there are some great songs on it,the classic but also a lot of rubbish.A great number of songs (even some famous ones) sound like they were recorded with electronic music.
I'm going to look for a cd with maybe less songs but more quality.

If not the best Christmas album out there ..... and beleive me I should know, I've bought pleanty over the years, I say if your looking for a all round, something for everyone Christmas Album get this one I'll be suprised if your disapointed

This is a great CD, obviously for Christmas. But whatever you do...DON'T PUT IT ON REPEAT! You will soon go insane having this on repeat, unless you love Christmas songs. We bought this to put in a jukebox over Christmas, and it was constantly on! Its good if you are having family round, as maybe background music, but loudly, it would drive you insane...

I ordered this album and thought it was the best christmas album I have ever bought. The songs are all so christmassy and really put you in the christmas mood. It is a great collection of varied artists, so it suits everyone's style of music. Favourites of mine are the beautiful "silver bells", the pretender's version of "merry little christmas" which is delightful, and mariah carey's belting powerful version of "o holy night" that sounds like she has desended from heaven. Buy it and feel 100% christmassy.

This is a pretty decent stab at a Xmas party album but suffers from the usual faults ie Because the record company behind it can't obtain permission to use all the tracks they might want, you end up with this compromise. Unfortunately in this instance they've made matters worse by substituting inferior versions of some tracks for the real thing(surely no one actually believes "Fairytale of Newyork" is enhanced by Ronan Keating's contributions).

There is a fairly simple solution:Buy this album AND "Chritmas Hits"(a three CD set that can be got pretty cheaply), although there is quite a bit of over-lap, the two discs together should provide all the material you need to put together a tailor-made great xmas party album.
