Having recently acquired the accompanying DVD on import, I must say I am looking forward immensely to purchasing the CD set as well and am particularly interested in hearing the extended versions as referred to by the previous reviewer.
On the DVD, both OM I & II come across as raw, powerful yet melodic pieces with, consummate performances from all members of the band as you would expect. The live `energy' of the band ensures that OM II grabs you more so than on the studio album.
Having seen Pamela Moore on the 2004 tour when they played OM I complete, the development of her contributions certainly compliment Geoff's vocals throughout this production and enhance the overall sound. Mike Stone looks and sounds comfortable in ... Read More:

I'm really not sure who this album is geared at. Roger Waters fans might be delighted by the rarities here. Though the title track "Flickering Flame" sounds like Waters emulating Dylan - badly. He has better luck with "Knocking on Heaven's Door." Then there's the demo of "Lost Boys Calling," where Waters makes a poor attempt at a higher octave than his voice can handle for an otherwise good song. There is some work culled from other compilations, including the excellent "Towers of Faith" from When the Wind Blows (though no Folded Flags) and of course from Waters' solo albums.

This isn't a "hits" or "singles" album though. Note the absent of the heavily dated "Radio Waves" or "What God Wants." Instead, focus is put on album tracks, ... Read More:

Initially only released in Australia as a promo for RWs tour at that time, Flickering Flame burns brightest with track 8 'Each small candle' (from 'in the flesh live', 2000). Set in Kosovo, the song is about a Serbian soldier breaking ranks to help an Albanian 'babushka' grandmother. Musically its beautiful and lyrically very strong.

'Towers of faith' from the 1986 film 'when the wind blows' and 'flickering flame' are also good. The rest of the album is a bit hit and miss with tracks from 'Amused to death', 'Radio Kaos', 'Pros and Cons' and a couple more film tracks. Strange mix, as although the 'amused to death' tracks are good, perhaps the best from this amazing album (with the fantastic Jeff Beck) are not featured... plus the fact that Radio ... Read More:
