without doubt this is the best "best of" available that covers the boys at the height of the NWOBHM. Thoroughly covers the EMI years, and let's be honest, who cares about the dreaded late 80's and most of the 90's, when they went European. They couldn't get arrested here. This 3 cd package highlights the obvious singles and best known album tracks, plus a few album fillers. All in all this is a great place to start for you youngsters who missed them 30 years ago, and even better for us old farts who have been dragged kicking and screaming into the light of the 21st century and have had to replace our vinyl and tapes. Great to see that Saxon are still a major player in the heritage metal arena, and are recapturing the heady heights of the tracks ... Read More:

At last my own copy of the best live album to come out of NWOBHM. The cassette tape had worn so thin, but it was 25 years old! Great band great songs.Well done EMI for the bonus tracks, but why not sequence them into the running order so we get the feel of the live gig. I don't remember it being so loud, but it sounds great now. Treat yourself to a guilty pleasure - anyone who is not gently nodding along to this is either dead or was a new romantic back in the day. Only bettered by Strangers in the Night.
