Wheels of SteelSearch: Strangers by: Saxon Release Date August 07, 2006 the best record saxon ever made, this is the band at their hungry best, 747 still gives me shivers down my spine just as it did when i first heard it, everytime i heard it live and every time someone played it at the pub disco on a saturday night. heavy metal at its best ... bap shoo ap ... and the bands played on,(saxon ozzy motorhead etc) still relevant , still a metal standard, dont just sit there do yourself a favour and buy this cd , coz if you see me riding by - do not stop me do not try !!! |

. A Collection of MetalSearch: Strangers by: Saxon Release Date October 07, 1996 Are my eyes deceiving me or is there not one single entry in this collection from the "Strong Arm of the Law" album. The people who compiled this collection should have included the superlative "Dallas 1PM" at the very least. However, apart from this unfortunate oversight, the rest of the album gives a good representation of what Saxon is all about. Namely a band who could write good catchy songs which have lasted the test of time. The highlights are the epic "Strangers in the Night" and the title track of their fourth album "Denim and Leather. "Highly recommended for the first time Saxon buyer along with a copy of the "Strong Arm" album. |

. Wheels of Steel/Strong Arm of the Law: RemasteredSearch: Strangers by: Saxon Release Date February 10, 1997 Bon Jovi get off the Air! These are two of the best Rock albums ever bar-none. Sadly Saxon suffered from the fact that bands that were not even half as good as them i.e. the truly awful Bon Jovi came on the scene and sold squillions of records to people who were not true Rock fans, this meant that many Rock acts were dropped from their labels or forced to adopt a "Jovi-like-sound" that was utterly alien to both them and their fans as can be heard on the very poor Saxon albums that came later as mentioned by some of the other reviewers here, the worst of which would probably be "Destiny" on this one you may as well scratch off the Saxon logo and just write "Bon Jovi" at the top, it really is that bad, and I am sad to say after that album I never ... . Coming to the RescueSearch: Strangers by: Saxon Release Date March 25, 2002 There is nothing new about this double disc from dodgy label Snapper. This is a straight re-issue of two previously available discs, namely 'Diamonds & Nuggets' and 'Live at Donnington'. Even though it does not list all the tracks from 'Diamonds...' on the liner they are all present on disc 1 of this set. On the plus side this is a bargain price re-issue and better value than forking out for the two separate albums on Angel Air. As has been said before though, this is for fans and completists only but the quality is superb and all of the tracks from 'Diamonds...' deserved to see the light of day at the very least. If you're a Saxon fan and you don't have this, do yourself a favour - buy it! |

Thoroughly covers the EMI years, and let's be honest, who cares about the dreaded late 80's and most of the 90's, when they went European. They couldn't get arrested here. This 3 cd package highlights the obvious singles and best known album tracks, plus a few album fillers. All in all this is a great place to start for you youngsters who missed them 30 years ago, and even better for us old farts who have been dragged kicking and screaming into the light of the 21st century and have had to replace our vinyl and tapes.
