. Stray CatsSearch: Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats by: Stray Cats Release Date July 20, 2004 This is the Stray Cats first and greatest record. Stray Cat Strut, Rock This Town and Double Talkin' Baby. It s catchy 3 chord stuff with unbelievable technical playing which is as rockabilly should be. My deapest regret is that i never saw them live; largely due to the fact that i was eight when this record was made. But this particular recording has all the energy of their live cds which are also worth buying in my opinion. Many of the releases after this one, were not nearly as good. This is the definative Stray Cats album, and it sets the benchmark for Rockabilly music in general. |

. Live and Unreleased CutsSearch: Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats by: Stray Cats Release Date May 07, 2007 I bought my version on E-bay, entitled `Live & rare'. It has the same track listing but a different cover and it's released by a record label I have never heard of. The front cover is actually the same as the album Lonesome tears. The order of the track listing is different on the album noted here, which doesn't really make sense because on my version they are in order of live appearance. They are cuts, as the title suggests, but I wasn't aware of this because my title suggests otherwise. I also thought that it was a `rare' CD and that it wasn't produced in bulk. The crowd sound Fake. They are way too loud and it just sound unreal in places. Like they cheer at the beginning of every song as if it is a well known classic and then all of a sudden when the song is in full gear, the place sounds empty. I believe it to be a real live recording but way way too much overdubbing. Still that aside, it's an awesome album |
