Editorial Review:
Amazon.co.uk Review: Underneath all Christine Aguilera's coy affectations and vocal gymnastics lurks a rare talent. With her second album, Aguilera allows it to flower by abandoning all pretence of courting the teenage market. Stripped is a seemingly effortless move into weightier adult territory. Using her extraordinary voice as a much subtler instrument, Aguilera sings movingly about the disintegration of a relationship with grit and anger, ultimately stronger for the pain. But that's not all that's on her agenda: Aguilera also extols the power of women on "Can't Hold Us Down", which features Lil' Kim. Other guests include Dave Navarro, Redman, ?uestlove and Alicia Keys. Aguilera co-wrote most of the songs on the disc, and produced one cut. She also partnered with former 4 Non Blondes leader and Pink collaborator Linda Perry on four songs, which gives her a rock edge she never possessed before. --Jaan Uhelszki

In my opinion, no other artist could have come out with an album like this, because this album pretty much pushed every boundary, and broke every rule, and was such a stark contrast to her debut, to Christina this album was about coming out, and being herself instead of the `fake' & `forced' bubblegum pop star she was on the first album, although there is plenty of darkness on this album, it still speaks true of Christina, and she certainly doesn't hold anything back.
The 1: 39 intro sets the mood & atmosphere for the album, with snippets of news reports and some brief singing, primarily about Christina's transition from bubblegum pop princess to the independent diva, then we go into the independent, female liberation ... Read More:

I believe this to be Christina's best work!
The majority of the album is full with really brilliant catchy songs.
My favourite songs are Walk away(this song is pure perfection!),Dirrty,Can't hold us down,Under appreciated and The voice within.
Although I have to admit I seem to be the only person who HATES Beautiful(maybe it's because I've heard so many covers on TV shows such as The X Factor)!

This album is bursting with vibrant passion. Every word in every song seems to have a meaning with feeling behind it. The album contains a mixture of soul, blues, pop, party, rock and gospel tracks. It is a refreshing difference from some albums which seem to have the same sound to every track. Each song manages to discuss a different problem or point of view and outlook at life and love. The songs all contain very different lyrics from woman's rights to domestic violence. This adds appeal to the album as people can relate to the situations described.
The majority of the songs have an introduction the best are the two stripped intros which really describe Christina Aguilera's personality and down to earth sense of humour. Her voice ... Read More:

this album showcases her vocal abilities to the fullest
this is her best work
you have tracks where you can't help but appreciate her range and talent mixed with music you can actually chill to
i can't say the same for back to basics
what is that?
the look, the era? is not the xtina i'd previously warmed to
i'm not sure what she was trying but, i was extremely disappointed by the two disk follow up that should've been filled with countless hours of listening and awe
instead, i found myself skipping near enough all the tracks
undoubtedly, there are a few good songs, but it's not the level of exceptional i'd experienced with her here
i hope she gets her groove back, here's hoping her next ... Read More:
