OK, this is a good collection of songs from the album's subject but c'mon, no Cilla Black!
Cilla had two no.1 hits in the 60s as well as 8 more top ten smashes. Why, does it seem that Cilla has been airbrushed out of 60s music, her voice really was one of a kind.
This mayor release could have introduced more people to Cilla's music but all it is an insult to her musical legacy where so many one hit wonders have their songs included here, there is no Cilla recording to be found.

The standout track of 'Everybody Needs Love' has to be their incendiary version of '...Grapevine'. Lets not argue about whether they or Marvin recorded it first, but Glad and The Lads' was released a good year before, and sold two and a half million copies (mostly in the US). Also here are two British hits 'Take Me In Your Arms And Love Me', still on radio platlists, and 'Just Walk In My Shoes' which got re-released and was a hit in '72, following interest by DJ Johnnie Walker. I have been a fan of this lady since the beginning, and yes I am very biased towards her and her music.

But in my humble opinion I dont think she has ever made a bad record and that is some achivment in this day and age, the greatest female voice backed up by the one and only Pips.

If you only have one record in your collection make it this one..........

Alan took a much-needed break after leaving the Animals but eventually formed the Alan Price Set. While the Animals were an R+B group, Alan broadened his musical base after he left them. The R+B sounds have largely (but not entirely) been replaced by mainstream pop sounds.
