One of my favourite groups. Very underrated in their influence, espcially in the light of the influx of lo-fi indie crossover into the UK mainstream. This is a classic record. Recorded practically overnight in a garage, it's as close as you are going to get to a one take wonder. You can hear the faulty bass amp buzz in the background but it just adds to the ambience. The record has some of the best sparse psychedelic indie-rock ever released as the songs drive along and don't have an inch of flab on them. The guitars interlock and help lighten the almost claustrophobic urgency to lay down the set before the impetus lifted. It works superbly.
