The American influence on slade is evident in this album produced after they left to 'conquer' America in 1976.(despite don powell saying 'to hell with America' in the notes for Slade Alive). the album is easy to listen to for none slade fans as there is much variation from the 'heavier 'Get on up to the quirky reggieish number 'Did ya mama ever tell ya'. The album includes their minor hits in for a penny and let's call it quits. Holder has said the former is his least fav single, but i rate it as it shows slades versitility at it best. LA Jink and do the dirty will ring in your head for days after. I m still mumbling la jink 25 years after hearing it first. the whole album sounds even better on C.D. it really does show Slade ...
