Realistically, the Splinter Group's chances of success were always slim. First off, they had to achieve what most considered impossible in bringing Peter Green's burned talent back into the mainstream of the music business, secondly, they had to overcome the huge expectations of a generation of blues fans, many of who wanted nothing less than some magical reincarnation of Fleetwood Mac c.1968. Does it get any better than this?!! At their best sums it up beautifully. Not a duff track from two of Motowns top voice bands
capturing Levi Stubbs plaintive vocals and the Temptations multi voiced front men.Superb ballads, upfront dance anthems,and the Great Norman Whitfield's production. what more could you want. Eat your heart out Robbie and Dido this is what real music is all about.
