Taking, as the sub-title suggests, elements of jazz, soul and funk (Though whether they are really from the inner city is open to debate) the quality quotient on this coollection (sic) is admirably high. So why is it only now available on the out-moded cassette format? There are some true classics included here - "Trouble Man" by Marvin Gaye, "Move On Up" by Curtis Mayfield and the truly superb "Across 110th Street by Bobby Womack-but the real joy is in the brilliance of some of the lesser known tracks such as errr "Joy" by Isaac Hayes which sees the maestro at his sultrily smooth best.
