While some people will say that this album is not country (and I can see their point), I have no problem is classifying this as country music. Among the musicians are two steel guitarists (Dan Dugmore and Paul Franklin), a mandolist (Jonathan Yudkin) and a fiddler (Aubrey Haynie). All four appear on one track (Before me and you) and each plays on some other tracks. Despite these traditional country instruments, this is very much a contemporary country album complete with electric guitars, keyboards, drums and percussion as well as the inevitable acoustic guitar and bass.

Um, my wife bought me this, the Edge Of The 70's and the Mix Tape one for our wedding anniversary this week, mainly due to being of a certain age, I guess, oh and having a massive obscure 80's music collection - I've been collecting since 1978 when I was 12.

I must say a lot of the tracks on this CD are hardly "on the edge" - Tears For Fears? Visage? Landscape? The Cure? Ultravox's "Vienna"? However, there are some surprising cuts on here. It's nice to see that B-Movie finally get on one of these complilations, hopefully Steve Hovington and the boys can finally make a bit of money.
