I think this release to be good. I do disagree, however, with the review below.... I personally think Sonic and Silver's 'Under The Sun' to be a brilliantly original slab of dancefloor funk and by far not the weakest tune in the mix, which has to go to MIST vs Marky & DRS on 'Touch Me' - but then I don't like most by the latter two whom I generally feel do repetitive washed-out tracks with little soulful substance. I also think 'Devotion' by D Kay a little lame, good to see soul vocals - needed - but then the vocal is light and could have been worked deeper.

Maybe therefore not superb, but then that's hard to find in drum & bass music nowadays: material that is orginal, compellingly intricate whilst incorporating sublety. ... Read More:

Razorcuts were typical of the low buget guitar groups that proliferated in the UK between 1983 and 1989. With guitar music out of fashion, these bands had to largely finance themselves as major label deals were hard to come by. As a result spindly production and amateurish singing became the norm and nobody would argue that the "C86" sound has worn well. Razorcuts' two albums for Creation provide most of the tracks on this CD and these are better examples of melodic janglepop. A few tracks like "Jade" even soar a little. Pleasant but inessential.
