Release Date May 28, 1996
As I got this before either Requiem or Octagon, I had sufficient time to reviem it without having the 2 previous one in the way.
After knowing that the ideas for this album have taken 15 years to come out fully, and subsequently owning both Hammerheart and Twilight Of the Gods, I can see where this is coming from.
I like the way that the story follows on from one song to the other, and that the mixture of acoustic, black/death, and Viking metal all come in on this one, I think that it's worth the wait.
'One eyed Old Man', 'God's of Thunder, of Wind and Of Rain', and the 2 songs about Blood on Ice itself are all exelently done, and Quorthons clean voice sounds better on here then it does on Octagon.
