having been born in the 80's and listening to what music sounded like back then this compilaton just about has an awesome track selection that can keep me listening till the end.
Release Date July 12, 2004
There are a good amount of songs on this 3 disc box set a total of 54 songs.
Some of the songs are the remix type songs with extended intro which is disappointing ,
The set needs more of the 80's classic songs, there is no Frankie Goes to Hollywood but Paula Abdul and Ashford & Simpson make an appearance.
The album has Madness singing Uncle Sam which wasn't one of their biggest songs, the CD's also include a song from Blondie and a song from Deborah Harry, which is bit like having Culture club and then have a song by Boy George.
All in all a disappointing 80's set, no classics and I'm sure if I had looked harder I would of found better.

I loved the 80s. Born early 70s, I was at secondary school during the 80s and loved all of this music. All the tracks are listed in the product detail so there isn't much to say about what's on the CD except I'm sure there's plenty of others that we all thought equally as fab that could've gone on. In fact, I think if they hadn't duplicated some artists then this would've been an idea. Because the tracks are all the original artist and it's a collection of previously recorded hits there isn't anything to comment on the type of music. The packaging is 3 CDs in their own separate case inside a slip box. My personal preference was for CD1 but CD2 is just as good. I wasn't as struck with CD3 but I still had a good sing-song in the car (when no one ... Read More:

There are so many compilations out there regarding 80's tunes and some of them range from the bizarre to the obscure. This one delivers - recognisable tunes by recognisable bands who were at their greatest in the heyday music times of the 80's. This is such a great box set and has everything I would want from the 80's, from Queen, Soft Cell and Spandeau Ballet to things I haven't heard for ages like Living in a Box and Rock Steady Crew.
I already have School Reunion The Party and The Disco, but this one is by far the best yet!

You're either looking at this because you're after a refresher course in music from the last thirty years, or, like me you were hoping to see some originality in a compilation CD.
I caught this show a few times and whilst some of the covers were complete drible, some were fantastic arrangements. (For example, there was a motown style reworking of a Darkness song IIRC.) It's a shame Virgin TV couldn't work hard to secure rights to include some of the better covers on this album as THEN I would have actually bought it!
