The Doors Box Set

Paul Rothschild (the bands regular producer) always said that what was issued originally was the best of the material available. With the exception of the New York concert featured in full, this is very uneven in quality. Did we really need a disc of the band's favourite tracks? I love The Doors and own everything on CD, video and DVD but even I was disappointed at this set. Definitely one for the hardcore fans only.

i know Jim Morrison is not there anymore but he left us his music and his poetry.. this is one of the best collections available in the market.. no need to say that doors are good. their music will blow your mind. in this box you've got all the best hits such as "five to one", "queen of the highway", "end" and "i will never be untrue".. you will love it. the lyrics are a bit "weird" as some people might describe it. i hadn't heard any of Jim's poetry before i bought "The American Prayer" and since then i've been a fan.. some people choose their music, some choose their lyrics.. whatever you will choose you can be sure you'll find it in here..

There's a great Doors box out there, this isn't it.

OK, I know that a Doors project is going to be a tough one to deliver. The Doors grew into a hard blues band with a unique poetic slant. Prior to that they were a psychedelic top 40 act with a dark side. Problem is, there's no official live record of their act until 1969 when Elektra started to record gigs for a live album. Coupled with a reluctance, for whatever reason, to use any studio out-takes of any significance, you're looking at a largely uneven representation of what the Doors were/ are.

Another problem, obviously, is Morrisons absence since 1971. It's often been said that the Doors were Jim Morrison and three other blokes and whilst this somewhat undervalues the ... Read More:
