The sometimes dreamy, sometimes lively, yet always slightly dangerous undertones of this dark album have the perfect balance of the familiar and the unexpected. From the murmuring sensuality of 'Virgin State of Mind' to the pure teenage attitude of 'I Quit' and the baroque sliding tones of 'Transylvanian Concubine', this is one to put on, sit back and sink into. Buffy fan or not, this album is just good music with a generous 18 tracks of indulgent hedonism.

I originally bought this soundtrack, as I am a great fan of the show. I only knew about three of the artists on the album and about two of the songs! But this is one of the best soundtracks that I have ever heard. There are naturally up beat songs reflecting the teen lifestyle as well as the gothic references to Buffy's nighttime life style.
The album has introduced me to a whole new world of music from the harsh vocals of "Four Star Mary" to Christopher Beck's soft piano love theme. Although a little dated now, since it was made over three years ago and the show has moved along a lot, I look forward to a second sound track being released (hint, hint Joss!)

A really good CD, a tad pricy but well worth it for the countless songs over the 4 CDs. There is a good range of bands - Bauhaus, ministry, switchblade symphony and alien sex fiend are just a few. This is a great introduction CD for people who aren't familiar with the genre - I lent it to a lot of my friends who got into it too. Overall, buy this, you won't get bored of it easily and it's great value for money.
