 Rating: - Beautiful songs...played and sung beautifully.I am a great admirer of Maddy prior, not least because to me she represents the true voice of English Folk Music and is not afraid to champion the 'English' song in this day and age of so called correctness. English Folk Music is amongst the best music in the world and this CD is no exception. There are some great melodies here both sung and played so well that it is a joy to listen to. I cannot imagine a world without Maddy's music - with or without Steeleye Span and the Carnival band that she sings with. To me the real gem of this collection is 'Magpie', her own composition which was shelved for over forty years until now and never fails to send a shiver down my spine and a tear to my eye whenever I play it.
