Do yourself a favour and buy this CD. It's always tough deciding whether a double disc set that features a mix on one CD and a straight run-through of the tracks on another, is actually good value for money. In this instance it is!

First off, the mix CD is blinding - these 2 know how to meld tunes into a unified soundscape, and they manage to do this without loosing the individuality of the tracks. There's lots of outboard going on here too, with effects used to pretty much remix whole sections. Lots of delays and flanges keep the excitement mounting.

Thus it makes sense to let us, lucky listeners, hear the untampered versions on another disc. I'm not going to get into this one on a track-by-track basis cos it should ... Read More:

talking book this is a classic soul album i love it and play it quite regually its cool it features two known songs you are the sunshine of my life,superstition and lots of other good songs which aint recoginised so much radios have a habit of playing 2 or 3 songs by one artist all radio stations are guilty of it eg queen bohemian rhapsody,youre my best friend,dont stop me now and sometimes we will rock you but theres plenty of other fab songs by queen eg innuendo,these are the days of our lives,somebody to love and more i like a winters tale too off the made in heaven album fab!! but they do this with any artist play certain songs thats why i get bored by radio stations rather go and put my own cds on!! if i listen too radio its radio2 mark radcliffe ... Just to reccomand other people this double compilation, which includes a lot of famous songs end 70'beginning 80', ther performer is really great, Micheal Mc Donald voice it seems to keep these songs alive, even the one's older than 20 year, but you do not realise that!! He si great, and this kind of music is always appreciate expecially if you have friends at dinner, it is easy listening music and you'll never change this cd when it is over!

Michael McDonald is one of the true great unique voices of modern times. Probably one of the best white soul-singers. Here he is with a second go at the Motown songbook. He is great. The songs are great. Many of the arrangements here are bland though and the whole album kind of just breezes past. The best moment is his re-working of Tracks Of My Tears and a duet with Toni Braxton on Stop Look Listen. Michael's fans will dig this album .
Listening to it for me was like having a good meal and still feeling hungry after it.
Good. But not enough.
