This CD soundtrack isn't bad overall, so long as you like instrumentals and all the Cole Porter songs featured in the film. My personal favourite is 'face the music and dance', although 'there's no business like show business' is also good. It's good to hear the familiar songs sung by unfamiliar voices although Matthew Lillard shouldn't really have been allowed any solos! It's one of those soundtracks which features all the distinctive songs from the film and so if you found yourself singing along while watching this may be worth buying.

On this, his only all-Gubaidulina release, old friend Rozhdestvensky conducts the Stimmen... Verstummen symphony dedicated to him and also acts as narrator in the other piece Stufen.
The large-scale symphony completed in 1986 uses a full orchestra and, somewhat unusually for this composer, features major parts for all wind-instruments that are occasionally played using extended techniques. Less unusually there are also extensive parts for various percussion instruments including xylophones.
