This volume is the best in the trilogy, although the difference is not enormous. The tracks in this series are uneven, and the sound quality is rather low, but there are some absolutely incredible funk gems here which shouldn't be missed by the funk addict. Such is the wonderful melodious groove by Total Experience, a funk-rock tour de force, or the frankly bizarre-but-beatiful beat by Calvin Owens Show (probably perfect for breakdancing). A gritty wah-wah is featured in Earth's Delight. The track by Uncle Sam starts off rather slowly but increases in intensity to an amazing instrumental crescendo. For the really heavy grooves there are the JB-style, horn-blowing tune by Curtis Lee & The KGP's, or my own favorite, the sad, bass-driven groove ... Read More:
