This album is compiled by the resident DJ of Razzmatazz club in Barcelona and is a great mix. Although he doesn't actually mix the songs there is a great selection, very varied. It starts off well with a remix of a shadow number and a mellow delgados track. "Such Great Heights" is from the Garden state soundtrack, another good tune. In my opinion the second CD is better than the first, with tracks from artists like Underworld, Timo Mass and Bjork, you can't really go wrong.
This is definitely a varied selection of songs and is worth well buying, there are three more editions of this ('04, '05 and '06) which are also quality. The club itself is awesome with five huge rooms with indie music (like that of the CD) in the main one and ... Read More:

I am amazed that the reviewers who gave this such a slating bought it considering the contents are clearly displayed and that these contents do not fulfill their particular agenda, if indeed they did. A review should be given following the purchase of an item and with a sense of fairness, or appreciation for the intention of the people behind its release. To accuse the makers of blatantly selling out is as valid as saying Wild Man Fisher did it for the money.
I bought this knowing that the tracks contained therin bascally sum up listening to John Peel and Dave Fanning(RTE Radio) over the years and as such let me get some stuff on cd that I would not be willing to buy the full albums for, or to replace aged cassette recordings made ... Read More:

This cd 'The Ultimate Bands,The Classic Anthems' contains 40 tracks found on two discs.
Disc one is titled '20th century' and contains such classics as Bowie's 'Heroes', Iggy Pop's 'Passengers, Radiohead's 'Creep', The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' and many more in the same vein.

I was in a music shop and ended up chatting to a man about house, techno and broken beat for about an hour, he recommended me this mixtape and it's fantastic. Daddy G only plays absolute bangers, my favourite tunes are the French cover "Non Non Non" by Melaaz, "Armagideon Time" by Willie Williams and the Oakenfold remix of "Unfinished Sympathy". The mix does have an overall dark feeling, but it's perfect to dip into or listen through, whatever your mood. It starts off downtempo and quite subtle but builds up with tunes such as Johnny Osbourne's "Budy Bye" and drops into some heavier breaks towards the end courtesy of Leftfield. It's worth bearing in mind that several of the tunes on this mix are either dubplate mixes or very hard to find - only 1,500 copies ... Read More:

Love him or loathe him, Oakenfold has had an indelible influence on UK dance music, particularly by taking it to a wider audience. This mix compilation brings together, for the first time, productions from every stage of his career, from early balearic remixes of The Cure and the Happy Mondays to trancey Cream Anthems and some of the rock-influenced dance sounds he plays today. There are even a few previously unreleased mixes of club classics like EBTG's "Missing".
It may not as cutting edge as James Holden or as subtle as Lee Burridge (both of whom I highly recommend to those with more underground tastes!) but it is a lot more listenable and accessible than the vast majority of dance compilations (and it's likely to stay in your collection for a ... This is seriously one of those compliations that is well worth getting.... ok so you might already have the "typicall" classic dance songs from another compilation, but this throws in some of the forgetten.
Its a really good mix of old classic dance tunes as well as some proper old school R&B and Hip-Hop classics, worth the purchase!
