As someone who is not an opera aficionado this is the perfect introduction. It has some wonderful artists and all the most loved arias. All the songs you listen to on the radio and then forget what they are!! The Pearl Fishers duet is the highlight for me. To be recommended.

I do not normally listen to classical music but I have to say the selection of tracks on this cd would pursuade anyone to listen to this type of music more often. The word popular is the key here. This cd is really for the philistines that are as of yet uninitiated with classical music. So if you are new to this it's got all the catchy numbers which are sure to insentivise you to delve more deeply into the classical genre of music.
