I was really looking forward to this, sadly it's just alright. There are some gems in there but it lacks the originality of the first. I suppose its the same as most sequels, just more of the same 95% of the time. I'd give it 3.5 stars but no half marks allowed!

For months I had been waiting for some new kind of music to place on my ipod and I became bored of most mainstream chart music.
Blake is a breath of fresh air. Okay, so it is a bit operatic, but they are far better than Il Divo. My own personal favourites is their version of "Take My Breath Away", "Gladiator" and "Vide Cor Meum" (which is from the movie Hannibal). The songs that are sung in Italian are a treat, especially if you like to romance things up with your missus... I would say this is a great CD for Christmas as well.

This album contains most wanted highlights of classic music in excellent sound quality and is a wonderful compilation for anyone wanting an appetizer in classic music or for an affectionado looking for sweet mementos for longer pieces of music.
All in all, I highly recommend this album, even though there is no information about the music in the jacket - and despite the fact that "O mio babbino caro" is without a vocalist.
(Identical to other 'Second Nature' UK CD release, other than packaging. Slidepack CD case = slimline version of standard CD jewel case)
Second Nature is the second CD released by Katherine Jenkins in 2004. Like the first, the album achieved chart success, hitting the No. 1 spot in the classical music charts and reaching No. 16 in the UK album chart. Second Nature also won Album of the Year at the Classical BRIT Awards on 25th May 2005.
The cover artwork is an improvement on the previous album which I think didn't make the best of the singer's appearance. The girl next door look is discarded in favour of a bolder more glamorous operatic image.
Like the first album, the choice of music will have a broad appeal, ... Read More:

In a nutshell, what you get hear is a good choice of cuts BUT little if ANY appear to have come from the ORIGINAL recordings :-(
50% of the tracks are fully orchestral versions, and some are actually very good such as The Ride Of The Valkyries and the BBC Orchestra's takes on the themes from Star Wars & The Empire Strikes Back.
The other half is where this is sometimes on thin ground with the themes played on synths/keyboards ranging from the good (Dies Irae from The Shining, Halloween, Candyman, Hellraiser) to the abysmal (Eve Of The War from War Of The Worlds).
I quite enjoyed the Mad World cover (one of the few tracks with vocals) and the Blade Runner theme is VERY good, surprisingly faithful to Vangelis!
Vampire Hunters from Bram Stoker's ... Read More:

Japanese import `From the Heart' released in 2007 is presumably intended as a `Best of' Katherine Jenkins, all the songs being previously available.
Of the fourteen tracks, there are none from her debut album `Premiere' on this collection (Lascia ch'io pianga and The Lord is my Shepherd would have been worthy inclusions), while there are four tracks each from `Second Nature' and `Living a Dream, and `Serenade' wins the remaining six tracks.
Yes, I would recommend this as a good selection of Katherine Jenkins music, but I don't think it's the `Best Of' due to the omission of, for example, Nessun dorma, Amazing Grace and We'll Meet Again (honestly, how could you leave that one out?).
I think, considering import prices, this album will appeal more to ... Read More:

I found that the music was as described and not original film scores...
In some respect is does exactly what it says on the box but I do not think I can quite relax with this in that I am always trying compare what I am listening too with what I remember the original music score sounds like...
If you like the music that you hear in a lift, then this is definitely one for you.

I have grown to love Katherine Jenkins during the past few months for I think she is one of the best singers around at the moment.
I bought this CD for one reason, and one reason only, the track Vide Cor Meum. This duet was used in the film Hannibal, and also during the death scene of the Leper King Baldwin IV in the film Kingdom of Heaven. Here, Katherine sings the duet along with the Welsh singer Rhys Meiron. It is a divine work, beautifully played and sung.
But, to my absolute joy, I also discovered that this CD has numerous other wonderful tracks which are a joy to listen to. I loved it throughout, especially the tracks:
Time To Say Goodbye; O Sole Mio; Song To The Moon; and Mozart's little gem: Laudate Dominum.
