Release Date March 31, 2008

Most of the songs on the record are based around that rhythm guitar style that Chuck Berry made famous, and that you'll hear on a lot of Status Quo records. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of it. Nor am I a fan of the Rolling Stones, and there's a definite nod in that direction. You have to admire the Dolls' attitude though, and their ear for a good ... Read More:

I love this Box!!
Release Date November 21, 2006
a large amount of this box set has appeared in various guises before.bootleg or otherwise.the dallas and detroit material both appeared on vinyl boots years ago but make their first legit appearance"s here in slightly better quality.the my fathers place gig is a radio broadcast but is almost definatly not taken from the original master, sounding more like it was taped from the radio.the little hippodrome show which takes up most of disc three was released a long time ago as the lp red patent leather.but the gem here is a superb soundboard of the band at the commodore ballroom in vancouver which is disc two tracks 5 to 13.this shows the band in great form, the packaging is trashy which fits the band just perfect.

This 2 cd collection doesn't include anything not heard before , but is handy for new fans who don't want to wade through the mountains of dodgy demo compilations in the Dolls back catalog.
Disc 1 tracks 1 to 9 are really the Mercer St Sessions from 1972 which were originally released as "Lipstick Killers" on cassette only in 1981.That release (now on CD) is now effectively redundant.
Most of the rest of Disc 1 and the whole of disc2 has previously been issued as "Seven Day Weekend" , and can also be found on "Great Big Kiss" and several other archival collections.
As for the music itself, if you know the Dolls studio albums, then you will love this. Its the same songs in rawer versions. If you don't know the Dolls at all you should buy "New ... Read More:
