Buffy fan or not, this album is just good music with a generous 18 tracks of indulgent hedonism.

I originally bought this soundtrack, as I am a great fan of the show. I only knew about three of the artists on the album and about two of the songs! But this is one of the best soundtracks that I have ever heard. There are naturally up beat songs reflecting the teen lifestyle as well as the gothic references to Buffy's nighttime life style.
The album has introduced me to a whole new world of music from the harsh vocals of "Four Star Mary" to Christopher Beck's soft piano love theme. Although a little dated now, since it was made over three years ago and the show has moved along a lot, I look forward to a second sound track being released (hint, hint Joss!)

I originally bought this soundtrack, as I am a great fan of the show. I only knew about three of the artists on the album and about two of the songs! Search: Virgin State Of Mind

I heard of this band through their track "Virgin state of mind" which was on the BTVS soundtrack, and bought this album to see what else it had.

I know it's a Best Of, but this is brilliant. Souful and inspiring, this a great slice of indie goodness, and demonstrate that the likes of Elastica could have been much better than they were if they had put any effort in.

"Virgin state of mind" is still a good track, but is outshone by "Mr Freeze", and the totally awesome "My Heart".

If you have a liking for early 90's indie, then this is essential.
