This is expensive and I thought that the tracks would be versions re - worked by Schiller.
Sadly this is not the case - this is just a (very good) straight compilation. I felt let down as I aready own a lot of thes tracks.
I would recommend the great music on this but not at such a high price.

Very disappointed with this album, it is tagged as "The Original 45's" but features album versions of at least 5 tracks!
The Aztec Camera track is different to the superior Tony Mansfield produced 7" single version.
The Ian Dury track has had the lyrics altered and The Stranglers tracks has had 30 secs butchered from the middle of it for no apparent reason!!
Why, when compling these albums, can't the compliers just get all the 7" singles out to check they have the right version?
No wonder people illegally download music if the labels can't be bothered to get the simple things right.....

Rewind: The Best In Music & Video

This is a great way to get some outstanding pop classics of the 80s, and some full length videos on the bonus CD. It's a shame there was never a Vol 2, but this is well worth grabbing if you want a summary of chart music and videos of the era.

Only 4 stars due to the sound quality of some tracks on the (NTSC format) DVD. It is region free and made in Europe so should play fine on most players, but the intro menu screen is accompanied by a bright loop of The Buggles classic, which is much better sound quality than the dull murky quality on the video itself! Not sure why - and this bassy (sometimes suspiciously mono-sounding) sound quality does mar some of the other videos too. A shame as this could easily have been rectified. Real ... Read More:

The series of 12" 80's era CD box sets highlight just what a rich tapestry of output this period had, and reading through the reviews, also how opinions divide so much over track listings.

Dealing with the track listing issue, I won't be doing a track by track analysis as others have already done so (no point in repeating others work), and I reckon if you are looking at the items page, the track listing, and my review, you will already know if this album is what you want, and if you know or like the tracks or not.

The albums in the 12" series seem to average between 30-40 tracks, so back in the day (let alone now at collectors' fairs) to buy all of the tracks included would cost at least a £120 or more. You can now ... Read More:
