Myleene's Music for Romance

OK. Let's suppose you like Myleene Klass. Great, you'll probably think - a whole 2 CDs of music performed by Myleene. Wrong! There are only two tracks on which she performs. The love theme from Cinema Paradiso that opens the first CD, and the Satie that opens the second CD. Yes, she is a competent pianist. No, she does not demonstrate real flair on those two recordings.

The rest of the CDs are generally fairly indifferent recordings of popular classical pieces that appear to have been chosen for one of two reasons: either to promote another of EMI's "name" artists or to get some use out of a fairly moribund recording with one or two exceptions - the Prévin conducted tracks for example.

Ever since i was introduced to Classical music by my father at home and in music class at school i have appreciated the classics ability to soothe the mind, to be able to sink back and allow the mind to be massaged through the ears so as to be able to forget much of what troubles us, and Radio FM have again provided me with a beautiful continuity of music on these CDs to do just that. Gone is the need to turn the LP and for most of us we have the ability to place all the CDs in to a system and listen for hours on end, and with this set gone also is the need to skip tracks, each seems to flow naturally from the previous and merge nicely into the next, while the composers can take pride in their music, Radio FM can be proud of their management of all these ...
