The title didn't lead me to think this would be one of the more essential additions to Soul Jazz's Studio One series, but they've really excelled themselves here, with a scorching collection of gorgeous reggae love songs, not to be confused with the late 1970s/1980s lovers rock genre, which was, however, undoubtedly influenced by some of the tracks on this compilation.
Much of this is from the late 1960s and early 1970s, and in particular about half of the compilation consists of some of the finest lovers rocksteady ever recorded.
